Voluntary Registration

A business may choose to register for VAT voluntarily if its supplies OR expenses subject to VAT exceed the voluntary registration threshold of AED 187,500 in the last 12 months OR you expect that either your turnover or expenses subject to VAT to be more than AED 187,500 in the next 30 days.

Can businesses with zero turnover register for Tax Registration Number (TRN)?

Yes, A business may choose to register for VAT voluntarily if its expenses subject to VAT exceed the voluntary registration threshold of AED 187,500 in the last 12 months OR you expect that either your turnover or expenses subject to VAT to be more than AED 187,500 in the next 30 days.
